Well Alvin would feel bad for almost driving Simon to the breaking point and just wants to give Simon a break from being the smart, responsable older brother. He may like tormenting Simon sometimes but he never intended on utterly breaking him. The invention would be a failed invention that Simon thought had no use. Alvin thinks the effects Simon found useless might actually help simon relax while Alvin grows up a little bit. Maybe an IQ enhancing helmet that ended up taking away iq points from its wearer. Or a mind control device simon just made because he was bored.
In short alvin and theodore try growing up a little so simon can relax. Alvin being less of a trouble maker and theodore trying to be more independant.

My idea for Alvin and the chipmunks is Simon has to help bail Alvin out of trouble from yet another prank gone wrong but with simon also having to tutor theodore, helping Dave around the house, the singing group, and his own grades, poor Simon is close to a mental breakdown. Alvin, worried for Simon, tries to find an invention in Simon's lab that could help him relax and give his brain a vacation.

Recall: A malfunctioning AI that can control toys out of a desire to learn which of his toys should be "age restricted".

Dynasaur: A cartoon dinosaur brought to life that can only be seen by children like Battle Baby.

Dreadtime/Knight Terror: A dark lord who attempted to harness the power of the light that gave Nick his powers, only to be trapped in the body of a child during the day.

The Finger Painter: Someone with the ability to control paint with their hands.

Heartbreaker/Cherub: Someone with a magic toy arrow and wings like Cupid.

Wild Child: Someone who can talk to and control animals.

Dress-Up: Someone who can transform into someone else as long as they have an article of clothing or some kind of accessory, like a hat.

I've also gotten suggestions for other heroes and villains from some other people on Deviantart.

Maybe we can adapt the first three stories and see where we go from there?

I already have a few other villains in mind, and I'm open to any ideas you have.
