Ever since he had finished the treatment that made him into such an overgrown toddler, Sydney wasn't much on one to talk to anyone but mainly Denise unless absolutely needed. How could anyone grow to be that friendly with someone that willingly took stuff from them? So he remained quiet when she was asking how he was doing, hoping that he'd be spared from the embarrassment of actually having to answer that for her. The boop on the nose was hard enough as it was for him to maintain his pride through it.

The news about him being adopted though did jolt him enough to start asking her about it. "They are...? Wait, I can't let them see me like this!" He let out quite embarrassed as while he was aware that this was the most likely case for what have happened to him for being a Failed, he wasn't mentally prepared for the thought that he was actually going to be taken in by someone else just so they could have him be their baby.

As Denise checked him, she found that his diaper was somewhat wet and messy. However it seemed that Sydney himself remained oblivious to that fact. To him, that area of his body felt just numb enough that it was impossible for him to tell that he was wet or messy. Unless he looked at his diaper or checked it himself, he remained clueless as to its current status and right now he hadn't done either of those in awhile.

"Oh don't worry sweetie," Denise coos, producing a pacifier from her pocket and slipping it into his mouth, while also stroking his hair to help him calm down more. "I understand you're feeling a bit shy and nervous about this, but don't worry. As I said I was personally involved in the entire vetting process and I'm sure these two will be a great mommy and daddy for you." She boops his nose again and gently sets him back on the floor. She debates giving him a quick diaper change as they wait. On the one hand she certainly doesn't want him to get a rash, but on the other hand she tends to enjoy offering a first change to the new parents during the meeting.

As she's thinking through this, there's a knock at the door. Denise smiles, winks at Sydney, then walks over. She opens the door, revealing Val and Kyle. Upon the door opening, Val seems to scan the room, her eyes quickly zeroing in on Sydney. It takes all her strength, and the fact that Kyle is holding her hand, to not run across the room and scoop him up in a hug. Fortunately, Val takes a deep breath, still smiling of course, and the two step in.

"Nice to see you again, Nurse Denise," Kyle nods at Denise who smiles back. "I trust this is the little boy you've told us so much about." He half chuckles gesturing to Sydney.

"That's right, this is Sydney," She says, stepping back so they can get a clear look at him.

"Hello there," Val says, after Denise closes the door. She steps closer to Sydney and kneels down to look him in the eye. "My name is Valerie and this is my husband Kyle. We just filled out some paperwork that made us your new mommy and daddy. We're so happy to meet you Sydney," she coos, slowly reaching out to gently stroke his hair in the same technique as Denise. Kyle for his part has sat down at one of the chairs and watches, still smiling but at this point he's feeling a little nervous.

Once the pacifier was placed into his mouth, Sydney started to suck on it intently enough that he was unable to say anything back in response. Somehow it had been a habit he had picked up in the few days he'd been like this, where if a pacifier was placed into his mouth then it'd stay until it was taken out by someone else and he'd be unable to talk while it remained in his mouth. Or more like he couldn't will himself to speak since he was too into idly sucking on it.

Once the two entered though, Sydney began to blush anew as he tried to advert his head a bit so that he couldn't directly see them. Or at least until Val came up next to him and looked him in the eye. It was clear that he was just unable to talk due to not only the pacifier in his mouth but also the overwhelming embarrassment he was going through at the moment.

"Don't worry he's just a bit shy, but I can assure you he's the best behaved patient I've ever had." Denise says, before walking over to where she hung a diaper bag on the wall. "As it happens he might also lighten up once he's had a change. I don't mind doing that, but if you're interested..." She holds it out to Valerie expectantly, who immediately smiles and takes it.

"I'd be happy too," She turns to Sydney and scoots closer. "Would you like that sweetums? Are you ready for the first diaper change from mommy?" She coos as she pulls out a changing mat from the bag and lays it on the floor. She then holds out her hand to Sydney, hoping that he'll come to her of his own volition. It's probably the first choice he's been given since ending the treatment.

Kyle starts to get up to help, but soon sits back down as it's clear Val is intent on doing this herself. He turns to Denise.

"So while Val takes care of that, is there anything else we should know?" He asks her.

"Well you've already filled out all the forms," Denise says, turning to him and holding out a small packet. "Here's just a few basic tips, plenty I'm sure you've already read or heard. Also my contact information as I'll be remaining as Sydney's primary physician for at least the first year of his adoption. At which point you'll be free to alter that as you see fit." As they're having this conversation, Valerie is laying out supplies while keeping one hand out to Sydney. She's willing to just pick him up, but she wants him to be her baby not her pet.

Sydney wasn't sure how much he liked how Denise was telling him that he was the most behaved patient she's ever had. It felt like such a stinging rebuke of him. That changed when they talked about him needing a change. He didn't think he needed one now...right? In any case, he watched as Valerie was setting it all up for him so that his (he thinks clean) diaper would be changed. As his new 'mommy' held her hand for him to take, he hesitated for a few seconds as he decided what he should do. However he then relented and took Valerie's hand, but also used his other free hand to point to the pacifier he was still idly suckling in his mouth. He wasn't able to pull it out himself thanks to a part of the hypnosis he had endured, so he had to hope Valerie got the message with it and took it out for him so that he could finally speak again.

"There we go, what a good boy," Valerie coos as she leads pulls him over to the changing mat and lays him down, careful not to squish his diaper too much. "Mommy's gonna get you all clean, pumpkin." She coos, booping his nose before reaching down to undo the tapes on his diaper. Valerie had been reading and watching plenty of material on baby care since she and Kyle got on the adoption wait list, and even before then she'd been an accomplished babysitter of both literal babies and Sydney's type. As such her movements are just as practiced, precise, and gentle as Denise's. A fact the nurse notices, and nods approvingly about. Valerie makes quick work of wiping his bottom clean and wrapping the used diaper and wipes into a ball that she sets aside.

Kyle watches closely. He too has been reading up to get ready for the adoption, but aside from his younger siblings and cousins he doesn't have any real experience caring for little ones, and it's nowhere near as in depth as his wife's knowledge. However he is the first one to notice him pointing at the pacifier, while Valerie is unfolding a fresh diaper.

"Hey uh, what's he doing that for?" He asks Denise, who looks.

"Oh I think he's asking to take his paci out," Denise says. "He won't take it out himself, but I think he wants to say something to you. Of course it's up to you if you want to talk with him right now or later." Denise stands up. "If you do, why don't I leave you three alone for a bit while I get one last thing to send you off." She walks out leaving the couple and Sydney.

"Well dear do you want to talk with him?" Kyle asks.

"Well of course," Valerie coos as she folds the front of Sydney's new diaper up and tapes it snugly. She then reaches up and pulls the pacifier from his mouth. "What is it you want to say to me and Daddy, pumpkin?"

As Kyle was having his diaper changed by Valerie, he just did his best to ignore the feelings that came with it that he was unfortunately growing used to. Though he was still thinking that he really didn't need one, that his diaper was still currently clean since he didn't want to look at himself in the middle of the diaper change, as the pacifier was taken out of his mouth. "Finally can talk again..." He let out right after it was taken out. However then he focused back onto what he was going to do in the first place with it out and told Valerie in an assured tone that he thought he was speaking the truth "My...diapee...is clean, you know? I'm pretty sure I don't need a change since I didn't go potty in it yet."

"Oh is that so, pumpkin?" Valerie giggles, as she reaches over and holds up the used diaper she had just taken off his bottom. "Well that's funny, I don't think this stinky diapy came from me or daddy, but if it wasn't you then who?" She asks before setting it back down and helping him into a sitting position. She figures this was just a result of him still adjusting to his newfound incontinence, but also thought it would be a good way to gauge how he responded to teasing. Kyle for his part is a little more confused.

(Is he pretending? I thought they said he only got a gradual partial regression because of his good behavior....I don't think he'd play with us so soon) He thinks as he watches his wife with their new son.

"So anyway Sydney," Valerie coos, reaching over and slowly, but gently lifting him up. "As I said we're your mommy and daddy now. We're so happy to have you and we're going to take wonderful care of you. Is there anything you'd like to say before while we wait for Miss Denise to send us off?" She asks, cradling him in her arms. Honestly at this point it's everything she has to not start coating him with kisses and hugging him tightly as she can.

Finally presented with proof that in fact he had used his diaper even though he could have sworn that he was clean, Sydney's face blushed a beet red as Valerie playfully teased him. "I...I..." The currently tongue-tied Failure had to figure out on the spot how to respond to her question. He was tempted to ignore it and stay silent, but he expected things would go along easier with him if he at least played along. After all, these two were being talked about like they were going to be his mommy and daddy and they got a lot of free reign on what all their adopted Failure was put through. So it was best to be on good terms with them, right?

So after a few awkward moments of silence, he shyly told her as he was still feeling very embarrassed over it "...Yeah, you're right mommy. It...It had to be me that made it. I really thought that my diapee was clean though..." Even though Valerie had told him their names, his forced childish vocab made it unable to refer to them, instead choosing to use the mommy and daddy terms since they also introduced themselves as such to him. However he also still knew that those were very childish words to say, so it made him embarrassed every time he said them.

However his attention had to shift when Valerie picked him up, with him being quite stunned at it as he let out "Whoa! What? How..." in the process of her doing so. He was picked up by Denise before but she did look a bit muscular so he hadn't questioned it much, but Valerie looked pretty petie so she should have had a lot more issue lifting him up. However before that could be answered (or not) for him, he was once more asked something. This time, after a second to think on it, he just told her "...I just want to get outta here and go home mommy." After all, this place had offered him no good memories, only bad ones, so he'd be glad to get out of her finally...even if it was just to somewhere else that he was going to get babied even more.

"Oh don't you worry, pumpkin," Val coos as she strokes his back. "You used your diapy like the good baby you are nothing to worry about. From now on you just let mommy and daddy do all the worrying about your diapes, we'll be keeping your cute bottom nice and clean." She coos and noticing how down he looks reaches for his stomach to try for a bit of tickling. However, Kyle notices this and shakes his head, which she sees and retracts her hand, sighing just a bit internally. Kyle figures it's better to not get him worked up in anyway before they leave, even if it is by him laughing. Valerie figures he's right, besides they'll be plenty of time for fun when they get home.

Upon hearing his request, and more importantly, hearing him call her mommy, Valerie feels her heart melting a little, and she finally pulls him into a hug, though to her credit not as tight as she'd probably want to.

"Well if that's what you want, Sydney," she says, before planting a kiss on his cheek. "That's exactly what we're gonna do. Let's get you home so we can get started on making you the happiest baby boy ever." As she's saying this, Denise walks back in with a baby bottle of warm milk. She always sent her charges away with a bottle as she knew it would put them to sleep for the car ride home making it easier on the parents. All though while she would occasionally add a little extra something to ensure that sleep, in Sydney's case it was just warm milk.

"I see you're all ready to go," Denise says with a smile as she hands the bottle to Valerie and the diaper bag to Kyle. "Well just call me if you have any questions or problems and I'll see you at his first check up."

"Yes, miss Denise," Kyle nods as he puts the bag over his shoulder. "Thank you."

"Thank you so much for our little angel," Valerie says as she slips the bottle into his mouth.

Denise then turns to Sydney and plants a kiss on his cheek.

"Be a good boy Sydney," she coos. "I'll miss you." Valerie smiles and waves as the two new parents walk out.
